2/30

June 2009.
Six years ago, I was so madly in love with the world.
Six years ago, I conformed to its patterns.
Six years ago.

In less than a month, I'll be celebrating my 5th year with The One who gave him His all. :)

1/30

To THE Father who gave me my biological father, thank you. I couldn't be more grateful! So this post is medyo drama so kindly bear with me.

To the Lord our God, The Heavenly Father:
Thank you for You are the Creator.
Thank you for You are love.
Thank you for You are Ultimate Provider.
Thank you for You are the justice.
Thank you for giving me my biological father.
Thank you for the gift of time.
Thank you for EVERYTHING.
Knowing that God himself is immeasurable and I can't even comprehend all his attributes, I'll simply stop here.:3

To my biological father:
Thank you for letting me see and experience the wonders of the world of Our Creator.
Thank you for loving me as your only child.
Thank you providing me with my necessities, at the expense of sacrificing some of your needs/wants.
Thank you for disciplining me and reminding me to always lock all the doors and never leave the appliances unattended.
Thank you for the quality time that neither material things could replace.
Thank you for joining PTA meetings and for being friendly to my classmates. Thank you for making my projects during elementary years.
Thank you for trusting me to have a boyfriend, it may sting a bit in your heart knowing that I am now saying "I love you" to another man. :D

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Above all, thank you Lord God for letting your  only son,Jesus, die on the cross for our sins. That is something that my biological father could never ever afford to do.

Rose,Thorn and Bud

I have been following lifestyle blogs of people and I am amazed with how they unconsciously inspire me, in teaching my students, I want to do the same. I want not just to teach them with the lessons in the curriculum, but life lessons as well. I want to learn passing forward the lessons that my college mentors had imparted me.

Yesterday was the first day of class, I met new faces and I learned new stories and experiences from my  students through the activity Roses, Thorns, and Buds.

Mechanics:
Each student in class  takes turns in writing their Rose, Thorn, and Bud. The Roses are the good things that are happening in their lives. The Thorns are the current problems  and the Buds include their dreams and aspirations. No names were written in their papers because some might be shy in sharing.

Time:
5 - 15 minutes

Benefits of the activity:
  • First, this activity helps to know what is happening with the students in class.
  • It allows for reflection and at times forces you to find the positive even when you’ve had a day that felt like one big thorn!
  • It allows your students to acknowledge the bad things that happen and to process them at a time that is not emotionally charged.
  • It also allows you and your students  to talk about making mistakes and learning from them, a key to curtailing negative perfectionistic tendencies.
Original article is from https://www.mindfullifetoday.com/category_s/61.htm.

I believe that it is very essential to know even nuggets of information about the personal lives of the students. The thorns that they wrote are the  hindrances which may affect their role as students in the succeeding meetings. At the same time, the buds could serve as their driving force and motivation to strive hard in order to attain it.

People x Differences

People
People often view things the way the want to see it.
People have freewill. Trying to control them often leads to frustration.
People heed for advice. It's either they follow your words  or they filter what they want to hear.
People know their problem. They're too stubborn to solve it or they wait for that one morning where things are already fine.
 People love to love.
But people love to be in pain as well.
Tambolero, 2015

In the 2009 film, Adam, one of the lead character's favorite past time  is people-watching which happened to be my hobby as well. There is just something in observing people. The noise that they create and the emotions that speak through movements and facial expressions. But as I continually look at them, I realize that there must be reasons behind their actions. There must be unheard stories and these are what I want to discover. Not to meddle but to understand. Not to judge but to extend grace. As I journey with you in this blog, let us find out why people often view things the way the want to see it, why are people controlling? why people heed for advice yet they don't listen? why people are stubborn in solving problems? why people love to love? and why people love to be in pain?
