Today is probably the most memorable day with them (all TTh classes). No, we did not have major activities nor did we eat (which I believe is their favorite). We just had conversations in the middle of the class discussion. Nothing fancy but it moved me because of how genuine their responses were. For my freshmen batch, we talked about passion, influences, faith, choices and consequences in the most casual and subtle manner. As for my juniors, we tackled strengths, weaknesses, goals and development. Yes, theories for discussions are essential, but shouldn’t we also invest on life lessons to students? Soon they will be part of the work force, become parents, etc.,thus it is essential for them to learn even the realities, basics and TRUTH of life. :)
My heart is joyful for these young students. Surely there were days when I had a hard time dealing with them, but today caused me to know and understand them more. Today caused me to remember my 16-year old self, who simply goes to school just for its sake. Today made me appreciate God more for this job, for the opportunity to communicate with people.
Today I chose to be grateful and I thank God for allowing me to. :)
First post for my #grateful series. :)
